Generosity, Opportunity, and Opposition | 1 Corinthians 16:1-12

What happens when the grand theological heights of resurrection glory meet the practical, everyday demands of faithful living? That is exactly the tension we find ourselves sitting in as we move from the triumphant declarations of resurrection in 1 Corinthians 15 into the surprisingly grounded instructions of chapter 16. The passage reminds us that until Christ returns, we still have work to do, and that work involves how we handle our money, our ministry, and our relationships within the body of Christ. Giving is not a footnote to the Christian life, it is a declaration of who holds lordship over our finances. Whether we are wrestling with debt, climbing into financial comfort, or somewhere in between, the call to generous, regular, and proportional giving is a universal one. The size of the sacrifice matters more to God than the size of the check, and that truth has the power to reshape how every one of us approaches our resources. This is not about meeting a budget. It is about breaking the idol of money and declaring that God is our ultimate provider.
