We encounter four beasts rising from the sea—a lion with eagle's wings representing Babylon, a lopsided bear symbolizing the Medo-Persian Empire, a swift leopard with four heads depicting Greece under Alexander the Great, and a fourth beast so terrifying that human language struggles to describe it. This final beast, representing Rome and something beyond it, introduces us to a small horn with eyes and a mouth—the Antichrist figure who will wage war against God's people.
