Easter Sunday Service | Hope of Resurrection
This powerful Easter message centers on 1 Peter 1:3-5, reminding us that our hope isn't just a feeling or wishful thinking—it's alive because Jesus is alive. We're confronted with an uncomfortable truth: we live in a culture that treats corporate worship casually, as if God's Word is something we can take or leave. But the early Christians Peter wrote to weren't casual about their faith—they were suffering severe persecution, facing imprisonment and death for following Jesus. Into their desperate situation, Peter proclaimed that God has shown us great mercy by causing us to be born again into a living hope through Christ's resurrection. This isn't about what we've earned or achieved; it's entirely about God's unmerited favor. We're offered an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading—kept secure in heaven, guarded by God's own power. Unlike the temporary wealth and success of this world that fades within generations, our inheritance is eternal life with Jesus Himself. He is the prize, the pearl of great price. The resurrection means that death has lost its sting, that our spiritual lives are eternally protected in God's hands, and that we have a glorified future awaiting us in a restored creation free from pain, sickness, and death. This Easter, we're called to recognize that the poorest Christian possesses greater wealth than the richest person on earth, because our treasure is imperishable and our hope cannot die.
